— First, please introduce yourself. What is your favorite game?
SAM Hello, this is SAM. I use the name nodayShalleraseyou on the net. He is 26 years old and is currently a computer science doctoral course. When I have time, I usually play games, make games, and enjoy the outdoors. If you choose one of your favorite games, it's probably Dark Soul 2.
――Why did this work develop?
Regarding SAM games, I'm a very choice type and I can't find a game I want to play. Perhaps I wanted to make a game I wanted to play. An old friend in the indie studio called Dang! At that time, I was making a hacking game called IO Interloper, and it was cool, so I wanted to make a game equipped with a hacking system. The first week of the development was very fun and I decided to continue.
―― Please tell me the characteristics of this work.
SAM This work is a game that clears the mission. As some difficult missions come out, players will use a wide lineup tools to perform these. In this work, players can do so much, such as becoming transparent, stopping time, riding a horse, summoning a succubus, and moving faster than light!
In addition, this work is equipped with a text-based hacking system, which allows you to hack almost everything. Not only can you take over cameras, turrets, security systems, etc., but you can also hack enemies, grenades, and how each and every bullet fired from the muzzle!
――What kind of person do you want this work to play?
SAM I want to make this work as easy as possible, so the answer to this question is Everyone who seems to be able to enjoy it. If you want character customization, text-based hacking system, and deeply challenging experience, this work is perfect!
――When is early access planned? What elements will be added in the future?
SAM early access is planned for about six months. It is a little short story that you can mainly add side quests, where you can experience while promoting the main story. Each side quest consists of several new missions, new dating characters, and new choices. We are also working on adding new abilities and classes, sophistication of systems, and bugging.
――Please tell us your impressions released as early access.
I think SAM early access was the right choice. This work is a game that gives players a high degree of freedom, so there is no such thing as you want to play. But it is difficult to test everything alone, and it is difficult to know how various types of players feel. By implementing early access, I think that you can get feedback from more players than before, and as a result, you can make a better game depending on the official release.
— Is there any work influenced by this work?
SAM This work is influenced by many things. About 10 years ago, when I played Hotline Miami, I was fascinated by the elegant gameplay. You clear a dangerous mission and return to a cozy apartment.
This work is also an immersed in a game play that is unexpectedly freedom. I was greatly influenced by games such as System SHOCK and DEUS EX. Among them, the influence of E.Y.E: Divine CyberMancy is the largest. I think this work is probably the most crazy, for better or worse. Players can completely destroy the rules and do a lot of things. You can make your own clone and jump out of the way, and when you land, you can break your legs. In this work, I wanted to be able to customize the character beyond the degree.
Other than the game, it was much influenced by Ghost in the Shell STAND-ALONE COMPLEX. In the first episode of Season 2, there is a scene in which terrorists are hacked by the police via the telephone and kill their friends. I wanted to create a game that could use similar tactics.
――Do you plan to support this work? Is volunteer translation possible?
SAM localization is exactly what I am working on. Due to lack of experience as a developer, this work is not made so that it can be easily translated. My goal this month is that fans and professional translators can translate the text of this work. I don't know when it will be able to handle multilingual, but at that time I'm going to officially support Japanese. When translating is possible, I will post a volunteer translation method on the Steam page.
――What had an impact on the development of the new Coronavirus?
The SAM new Corona was one of the reasons to start this project. I often spend my time at home in the early pandemic, so I wanted to do something creative to kill my spare time. In addition, working from home will also make time for time, and the time to develop this work has increased.
