Horror ADV A Pet Shop After Dark - I want people who say I'm not good at horror but like [Developer interview]

This project is an interview with the developer of the new indie game that you are interested in. This time, we will deliver a mini-in-tabble for developers A Pet SHOP AFTER DARK , a horror adventure released on August 30 for NPCKC and PC (Windows/Mac/Linux).

This is a horror adventure of the point and click type. The player will be a mysterious pet shop byte and will do a simple job. It has already been supported in Japanese.

— First, please introduce yourself. What is your favorite game?

NPCKC's personal developer NPCKC! It's difficult to choose your favorite game, but the strongest is The bell sounds for frogs.

――Why did this work develop?

NPCKC This is a game originally made for the 2020 horror game jam. Since I have never made a horror game, I thought it would be a good opportunity and participated, and this work was born. I couldn't put all the elements I wanted to put in the limited schedule of the game jam, so I developed the Steam version as a complete version.

―― Please tell me the characteristics of this work.

It is a game that makes you feel the eerie that it is not over when you think that NPCKC is over. Also, it is often terminated, but it is a specification.

――What kind of person do you want this work to play?

If you can do NPCKC, I want people who think I'm not good at horror but still like horror! I am not good at horror when I watch a horror movie, but I am attracted to the genre of horror, so I am devised so that horror fans of scary shops like myself can play.

I would also recommend it to those who like puzzles who use their heads for strange feelings.

— Is there any work influenced by this work?

The impact of the puzzle game Irish Syndrome! I can't tell in detail because it will be spoiler, but if I didn't play Irish Syndrome!, I would probably not have made this work. I was also influenced by the Extreme Escape Series.

――What had an impact on the development of the new Coronavirus?

NPCKC's game jam version was made for the game jam of the indie game community called Pig squad in Portland, USA. Originally, jam was held only offline, but the jam held in the summer of 2020 has become remote for Corona measures and can now participate not only from Portland but also around the world. If you couldn't participate in the game jam, this game would not have been born, so in that sense the development of the new Coronavirus is very great.
