Riot Games has reached an agreement to close the lawsuit in which the company responsible for League of Legends was accused of sex discrimination.
According to the Washington Post, the company will pay a total of one hundred million dollars to end the legal confrontation that initiated two ancient workers, Melanie McCracken and Yes Neuron, which accused Riot of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and bad conduct.
Riot will pay eighty million dollars to collective demand participants, which encompasses all full-time workers and former working agencies in California, and who worked in the company between November 2014 and the Current day.
Another twenty million dollars will be allocated to the payment of lawyers and other expenses derived from the process, according to Riot's statement.
The lawyers of the plaintiffs have declared that this is a great day for women of Riot Games and for women of all video game and technology companies, which deserve a workplace free of harassment and discrimination. We appreciate the introspection of Riot and the work they have done since 2018 to become a more diverse and inclusive company.
Riot, in addition, has also committed to continuing to improve its internal processes and monitor equity in salaries over the next three years through an entity approved jointly by Riot and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing of the State of California.
